First time users to Sametime need to insure that their web browser is configured properly. Please follow the first time user instructions below to insure your browser is setup properly.

  1. Sametime is supported in Microsoft's Internet Explorer versions 5.5 and above
  2. Sametime uses Java applets for much of its functionality. Please click on this link to go to Sun's Java site to verify that you have a current version of the Java installed. If you do not have a current version of Java, please upgrade to the current version and return to this page (Note: do not install the Google Toolbar option during the install. This tool bar has a pop-up blocker that can interfere with Sametime). Verify Java
  3. Windows XP Service Pack 2 enabled a new personal firewall system. Click on and run the following script to configure the XP SP2 firewall properly for Sametime. sametimeregfix_v3.vbs
  4. Some popular tool bars for IE (Yahoo, and Google Toolbars) contain pop-up blockers that may interfere with Sametime. Please disable these tool bar pop-up blockers prior to Sametime use.
